- In the Stadtkirche in Rudolstadt, the company Ladegast built a new organ in the years 1879-1882. The historic facade from 1636 of the previous organ of the church was used again. The organ had three manuals and pedal with 32 stops. It was dedicated on June 18, 1882.
- In 1905/1906 Oskar Ladegast worked on the organ. He installed a new pneumatic stop action with fixed combinations and a register crescendo device. In the years between 1950 and 1981, the stop list was modified several times, with more Baroque registers installed, with ranks of Ladegast removed or converted. The organ was maintained by Lothar Heinze from 1946 to 1967, then by Karl-Heinz Schönefeld.
- In 2004-2005, the organ was reconstructed by the company Eule to the original situation, with the exception of the register action, which was returned to the situation after the intervention by Oskar Ladegast. The organ was re-dedicated in the autumn of 2005.
