The organ contains older material: from 1906 by Hook & Hastings
From January 1951, Aeolian-Skinner built a new organ for the Mother Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston. The organ was designed by Lawrence Phelps. It was put into use in September 1952. A number of ranks were taken from the old organ of the church, a work by Hook & Hastings from 1906 (opus 2107), expanded in 1929.
