The organ contains older material: Organ case from 1807 by Gebrüder Stumm, Two stops from 1911 by G.F. Steinmeyer und Co.
In 1807, the Gebr. Stumm installed a new organ in the Stadtkirche in Michelstadt. The interior was replaced in 1911 by a completely new pneumatic organ from the Steinmeyer company. This organ was modified by Werner Bosch after the Second World War. He rebuilt the organ with 32 stops on three manuals and pedal. In 1999 the current organ was placed in the historical cases of Stumm. It is a work by Thomas Jann. Two ranks have been re-used from Steinmeyer, namely the Principal 8' of the Hauptwerk and the Salicional 8' of the Schwellwerk.
