Built by: Johann Nepomuk Holzhey (1785)
Johann Nepomuk Holzhay built a new three-manual organ for the abbey church of Weißenau in 1784/1785. The organ has almost the same structure and disposition as the instrument of the abbey in Obermarchtal, which was completed in 1784. Franz Anton Kiene (1844) and Johann Nepomuk Kiene (1869) modified the disposition and pitch of the organ. The organ was in a dilapidated condition after the Second World War. In 1949-1951 the organ has been restored by the Weigle firm, but it was consolidated in its existing situation. During a thorough restoration by the Sandtner company in the years 1989-1991, the condition of 1785 was reconstructed. The specification has been restored on the basis of a statement by Kaspar Speidel from 1828.
