  • The organ in the Village Church of Huizum was built in 1849. The Van Dam brothers used a lot of pipe work from the old organ during the construction, which was probably built in 1727 by Christian Müller. The new organ was built with two manuals and pedal. It was overhauled by Johan Frederik Kruse in 1888, without changing anything. In 1909 the three bellows ('spaanbalgen') were replaced by a large bellow by the Van Dam company during a restoration of the instrument. In 1947 the pedal keyboard was replaced by a new one with a size of 27 tones by the firm Vaas & Bron.
  • The organ underwent a major restoration in 1954-1955, performed by Bakker & Timmenga. Advisor for this restoration was Willem Hülsmann, who also played the organ during the re-opening on March 23, 1955, in collaboration with Bauke Zijlstra, organist of the church. During the restoration the Cornet was replaced by a new Mixture III-IV ranks and the Salicional by a Sesquialter. The attached pedal was equipped with a Bourdon 16' transmission from the main work and a pedal coupler to the main work. Finally, the pipework has been shifted and supplemented by a semitone to change the pitch.
  • In 2015 the organ was restored again by Bakker & Timmenga. Theo Jellema was the consultant for the work. A target was the reconstruction of the original stop list, while retaining some technical adjustments from later times, such as the bellows and the larger pedal size. Cornet and Salicionaal were reconstructed after examples of Van Dam from the same construction period. The pipework was put back in its original place. The organ was inaugurated on December 11, 2015 with a play by the consultant.
