In 1920, Pablo Xucla built an organ for the Iglesia de San José in Medellin. It was built in the church by local organ builder Luis Callego. It had 23 registers. From 1933 the organ was maintained by Oskar Binder, a German organ builder who settled in Bogotá. He represented the company Walcker & Cie. in Colombia. In the years 1954-1956, the instrument was converted by Walcker and Binder and expanded to 44 registers. Juan Carlos Ángel carried out a restoration in the years 2010-2015. The organ was inaugurated on June 18, 2015.
