The Musiikkitalo in Helsinki is a large concert hall that opened on August 31, 2011. The building was designed by LPR-Arkkitehdit. Partly thanks to a donation from Kaija Saariahio, a large concert organ could be built. It was built by Rieger Orgelbau. The organ has more than 120 stops. The front is designed as a work of art with sculptures made of organ pipes and wind channels. The organ has two consoles, one freestanding on the stage and one fixed to the side of the instrument. Some registers of the solo work are so-called 'microtonal' registers, with quarter-tone intervals. The wind pressure of the Positiv (third manual) and the Orchestra work (first manual and pedal) can be varied by the organist from 160 to 5 mm water column. The organ will be inaugurated on January 1, 2024 with a concert by Olivier Latry.
