Built by: James J. Binns & Co. (1900)
The organ contains older material: Pipes from 1869 by Rouse
Replaced (2004)
The previous organ of Streatley Church was built in 1900 by James J. Binns & Co. Some of the pipework was taken from an earlier organ of this church, built in 1869 by Rouse of Summertown. Before that, there had been a cylinder organ in church from 1836 by Bishop. The Binns organ was restored by Walker & Sons in 1973. Swell's Vox Angelica has been replaced by a Piccolo, and Great's Clarabella-Stopped Bass has been replaced by a Wald Flute 8'. Great's disposition was expanded with three new registers (Twelfth, Fifteenth and Trumpet) and the Bourdon 16' of the pedal received an extension for a Bass Flute 8'. The organ served in this condition for another thirty years, but was demolished in 2003 and replaced by a completely new instrument.
