  • Fincham & Hobday built an organ in 1893 for the Hobart Exhibition, which opened that year. After the exhibition, the organ was placed in the cathedral in June 1895. The organ had a special type of windchests, without slides. The organ was dedicated on July 21, 1895, on which occasion it was played by F.H. Stevens.
  • The organ was renovated in 1934 by Hill, Norman & Beard and in 1957 by Keith Davis. The organ was rebuilt in 1966 by George Fincham & Sons with new windchests. Laurie Pipe Organ undertook a renovation and expansion in 1986. In 2009 the organ was restored and expanded again by Wakeley Pipe Organs.
  • The cathedral was built in Gothic style and was designed by William Wardell. However, the building proved unstable, so it was largely rebuilt according to a design by Henry Hunter. Only the choir and choir chapels remain from the first church. A first organ was built by James Eagles and dedicated on May 27, 1851. This organ was transferred to Sacred Heart Church in New Town in 1895. It no longer exists.
