- A school was built in Grand-Halleux in the years 1896-1898, named Saint Jean-Baptiste de la Salle. The building was also known as Johanninum. In 1903 the Walcker company built an organ for the chapel with eighteen registers. In 1906 the Gebroeders Van Bever allegedly made a plan for a three-manual organ with 32 registers. This plan was probably never implemented.
- The school was damaged by a bombing raid in January 1945. In 1966 the complex was converted into apartments. The organ in the chapel is said to have been lost in a fire as a result of the bombing.
