In 1973, under the advice of Rolf Gröschel and Wolfgang Wünsch, Steinmeyer built a three-manual organ for the Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Nürnberg. During construction, the pipework from the previous organ, built in 1953 by Steinmeyer, was reused for the first manual.
