1868 Thomas Harrison  new organ
1970 John Bowen  restoration and enlargement

  • Thomas Harrison built a four-manual organ for the Church of Saint Martin-on-the-Hill in Scarborough in the years 1865-1868. It did not serve here for long, because it was already offered for sale in 1888. Holy Trinity Church in Sunningdale was enlarged in the years 1887-1890 according to plans by J. Oldrid Scott. A larger organ was needed, and in 1889 the organ was bought from Scarborough. It was placed in the church in the spring and summer of 1889 in a new organ case. During the transfer, all registers from Solo were removed, due to the available space. The Tuba has been transferred from Solo to Great. On November 25, 1890, the organ was officially inaugurated. It was played by George Elvey on this occasion.
  • John Bowen carried out a restoration in 1970, in which the mechanical action was renewed. The pedal was extended with a reed stop. On Great he replaced the Gamba 8' with a Mixture. On Swell, the Contra Fagotto 16' was replaced by a Double Trumpet 16', and an Oboe and a Mixture were added. The Choir disposition has been completely revised.
