- Bearwood House was built in Victorian style in the years 1865 to 1874 for John Walter III. It was designed by Robert Kerr. The house was sold in 1919 and the Royal Merchant Navy School was established in the buildings in 1922. In 1934-1935 a chapel was built for the school to a design by Herbert Baker. The Compton firm built a unit organ for this Inchcape Memorial Chapel. The organ had eight ranks, with a derived disposition of 36 stops.
- The name of the school was changed to Bearwood College in 1966. This school closed in 2014. It was subsequently sold and is currently in use as an International School under the name of Reddam House. It is not known whether the organ is still present in the chapel.
