The Bevington firm built an organ for Greyfriars Church in Reading in the mid-nineteenth century. After some expansions, in 1883 it had thirty registers on two manuals and pedal. In 1894 it was converted by Alfred Monk into a three-manual organ with 28 registers. It was moved from the rear of the nave to the north transept, and was given a new front. The organ was demolished in 1939, and a new organ was installed by Compton behind the front from 1894. It is a unit organ with nine stem registers (Diapason I, Diapason II, Stopped Diapason, Dulciana and Trumpet for Great, and Flute, Strings, Oboe and two Reeds for Swell).
