In 1866 Henry Willis built an organ for Townhead Established Church in Glasgow. A wind engine was not installed until 1960. The instrument remained otherwise unchanged. After the church building closed in 1993, the organ was dismantled and stored. In 2001-2002, James MacKenzie undertook a restoration. After this the organ was placed in the gallery on the west side of Saint Margaret's Parish Church, Knightswood.
