The organ in the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Ascension Church in Nieuwerkerken near Aalst was built in 1703 by Jean-Baptiste Forceville. It originally stood on the rood screen in the Sint Martinuskerk in Aalst. The organ case was made by Martinus De Doncker from Brussels. The sculptures are by Jan Michiels. Around 1758 the organ was moved to Nieuwerkerk, possibly by Pieter Van Peteghem. Around 1810/1820 the organ was restored by Pierre Van Peteghem. In the years between 1850 and 1875 it was renovated by François Bernard Loret and the disposition was modernized. The organ was preserved in this condition. In 1982 it was restored by Jean-Pierre Draps. Consultant was Antoon Fauconnier.
