In 1909 an organ was built for the Sankt Heinrich-Kirche in Kiel. This organ was lost due to war violence. After rebuilding the church, an organ was built by the organist of the church, Bruno Bludau, in the years 1968-1973. He worked together with the organ builder Eberhard Tolle and used all kinds of materials from various older organs. This included pipe work from Marcussen, Sauer, Walcker and Furtwängler & Hammer. Over time, more and more malfunctions occurred and the condition of the organ also deteriorated. In 2012 the construction of a new organ for Paschen Orgelbau started. They inventoried the material, and about 60 percent of the new organ was built with pipes from the old. The windchests have been reused, and the organ has been given a special structure. The Hauptwerk and Schwellwerk registers are divided into sections. There are three manuals and pedal, and various couplers allow groups of registers (the sections) to be linked to a particular keyboard. The organ was completed in 2014.
