On April 11, 1969, a new organ was inaugurated in Mellungsbacka. It was built by Kangasala with eight stops on two manuals and pedal. Consultant was Asko Rautioaho. It is not clear in which building the organ was located. On March 26, 2016 Ylivieskan Kirkko was completely destroyed by a fire. Services were moved hereafter to the parish center, which was built in 1973 to a design by Pentti Ahola. The congregation from Mellungsbacka donated the Kangasala organ to the congregation in Ylivieska, where it is placed in the parish center, Seurakuntakoti Maria.
