In 1968, Wolfgang Scherpf built a two-manual organ with eighteen stops for the Sankt Laurentiuskirche in Mechtersheim. It replaced an organ installed in 1893, originally built in 1780 by Seuffert. The organ case of this heavily modified instrument was sold, and is today in the Stiftskirche in Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
