In 1927, the Wurlitzer Organ Company built an organ for the Terrace Theater in New York City. The organ is opus 1818. In 1935 it was transferred to the studio of the radio station WOR, part of the Mutual Broadcasting System, in New York. The organ was placed in the Lower Church of Saint John Cantius Catholic Church in Chicago in 2013. This part of the church was the first part of the bulding to be inaugurated in 1893, after which the Upper Church was built above it. The organ was transferred to Chicago by Century Pipe Organs. It is a typical theater organ, with seven ranks, from which an extensive stop list is derived, supplemented with all kinds of effect and percussion registers. In 2015 the console was renovated by J.L. Weiler and equipped with a modern electric solid-state action.
