De First German Methodist Episcopal Church werd in 1899 gesticht. In 1949 werd het genootschap hernoemd tot West Side United Methodist Church. Op 30 maart 1952 werd de huidige kerk gewijd. De Möller Organ Company bouwde in 1958 een orgel voor de kerk, dat in 1969 is voltooid door de installatie van nieuwe registers op Great Organ. Het Great Organ uit 1958 had twee registers en enkele transmissies. In 1994 is Swell door de firma Zimmer & Sons gerenoveerd en opnieuw geïntoneerd. Er is ook een modern combinatiesysteem geplaatst.
