In 2021-2022, the firms Parsons Pipe Organ Builders and Rosales Organ Builders have jointly built a new organ for Saint-James-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in La Jolla, California. The organ replaced an Austin instrument (opus 2585), which was removed in January 2020. The new organ is placed in two identical cases on either side of the chancel, with the Antiphonal Organ opposite above the entrance of the church. Thomas Sheehan was consultant during the project. The organ could be used for the first time during the church service at Easter on April 9, 2023, but was not completed until July 23, 2023. It was officially inaugurated on October 1st, 2023 with a concert by Ken Cowan. The Antiphonal Organ was donated by the Max Elliott family, and has been named the Elliott Family Antiphonal Organ.
