- The building of the Provincial House of the Presentation of Mary was originally the residence of Edward F. Searles. In 1957-1958 a private school was founded on the estate and in the buildings. This school was run by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Somewhere around 1890-1895, Edward Searles acquired a pipe organ, that was built for the Broadway Tabernacle in New York City in 1859 by the company Ferris & Stuart. This instrument had three manuals and pedal, but was rebuilt by the Methuen Organ Company on the new location to a two-manual organ. This instrument is located in the chapel of the house. Parts of the choir organ, a Rückpositiv in New York City, were used for another instrument, that is located in the library.
- After the school year 2019-2020, the school had to be closed because of financial reasons. It is uncertain what is going to happen to the school buildings. The sisters are still living on the grounds, and the provincial house is the central house of the United States Province.
