1965 Andover Organ Company  transfer/relocate

  • The company Hook & Hastings installed a new organ in the Universalist Church in Arlington, Massachusetts in 1896. The instrument is opus 1731 of the company. The instrument lost its original case when it was moved inside the church around 1925.
  • In 1964, the church was closed and sold to the Greek Orthodox community. The organ was restored by Andover and tranferred to the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Haverhill, Massachusetts. It was dedicated on December 19, 1965. The previous organ of this church, built in 1904 by Hutchings-Votey, was put for sale.
  • During the renovation by Andover some modifications were carried out. The Aeoline 8' of Swell was replaced with a Flageolet 2', and the Dolce Cornet 2 ranks (2'-2 2/3') with a new Mixture.
