- The historic organ of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Lowell, was originally built by J.H. Willcox & Co. from Boston as residence organ for Joseph H. Ely in Lowell. It has been transferred to the church in or around 1886. Because of the maximum height of the instrument, the largest bass pipes of Great were offset. The organ case has very rich wood carvings. A small front with bass pipes of the Open Diapason was added to the prospect by George S. Hutchings at the time he installed the instrument in the church.
- In 1977-1978 a restoration has been carried out by the Andover Organ Company. On January 26, 1979, a fire in the church destroyed the organ completely.
