The Casavant company constructed a large new organ in 2005-2006 for the Cox Auditorium of Principia College in Elsah, Illinois. The instrument replaced an organ of Kleuker from 1967, that was rebuilt in 1983. The Auditorium iteself was opened in 1964. In 2000, the organist of the college, John R. Near, started with plans to have a completely new organ built, designed in the style of the work of Aristide Cavaillé-Coll. The organ was inaugurated on May 11, 2006, with a concert by John R. Near.
