The Gustav-Adolf-Kirche is the oldest Evangelical Church in Gerresheim. Originally it was only called the Stadtkirche, but when new churches were built in Gerresheim in 1957 (Gnadenkirche) and 1960 (Apostelkirche), the Stadtkirche was renamed to Gustav-Adolf-Kirche. In 1970 a two-manual organ was built by Harald Strutz. This instrument has been replaced in 2013. The Strutz organ had been sold to another church.
