In 1644, Nicolaus Manderscheidt built a procession organ with five ranks for the Sankt Gangolfkirche in Bamberg. The organ may have been used for processions until 1886. It was sold in 1923 to Paul de Wit, who sold it again to the company Rushworth & Dreaper in Liverpool. The instrument remained in their collection until 1966, when it was sold to the Liverpool City Museum.
