In the collection of the Grassi Museum is a cabinet organ, built by Gideon Thomas Bätz at the end of the 18th century. The instrument was in the possession of the family Wollf-Van Oordt, who lived in Rotterdam and Utrecht, and later moved to Elberfeld (Wuppertal). The organ was bought for the Musikhistorisches Museum in Köln by Wilhelm Heyer, when the family emigrated to the United States of America. The organ was in a very bad state after the Second World War, but has been restored by the Schmeisser company in 1959.
