On April 19, 1965 a large fire destroyed the in interior of Colton Memorial Chapel, part of Lafayette College, including the Ernest M. Skinner organ. The chapel was rebuilt and the interior redecorated. The Austin Organ Company installed a new organ with three manuals and pedal in 1966. Consultants were Ralph Grover, college organist, and F. Peter Sabey, reverent.
