In 1965, the company Casavant built a new concert organ for the Recital Hall of the Smith Memorial Building in Urbana, belonging to the University of Illinois School of Music. The organ has three manuals and pedal. The pipes of the swell organ are installed in two swell boxes A and B. The organ was inaugurated on February 9, 1966, with a concert by Paul S. Pettinga.
