  • Mary Lyon Chapel (today called Abbey Memorial Chapel) of Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley was provided with a pipe organ in 1898. The organ was built by the company Hutchings under consultancy of William Churchill Hammond. It was gifted to the college by Wiliam Whiting. The organ was dedicated on April 25, 1898 with a concert by the consultant. A special feature of the organ was the moveable console, that was not common at this time.
  • Hammond also was consultant during the rebuilt and enlargment of the organ in 1922 by Ernest M. Skinner. The rebuilt was necessary because the chapel was enlarged and the interior modified. The organ had to move to the other side of the room had to be expanded with new ranks. On November 22, 1922, the instrument was re-dedicated with a concert by Hammond. A new console was installed by Skinner in his own style.
  • The organ was enlarged in 1938 by Skinner, after a renovation and enlargement of the chapel in 1937. The chapel was renamed to Abbey Memorial Chapel after these works. Some new stops were installed, again under supervision of William Hammond.
  • In 2000-2001 a restoration was carried out by William E. Baker. He rebuilt the console with a modern electric action, including digital combination actions and MIDI-connections. Some new stops were also installed. The work took more time than thought, and in 2005 William Baker had to quit the job due to illness, without completing the original plan. In 2013-2015 the company Czelusniak & Dugal took over the work, and completed the renovation. On the pedal a Principal 8'/Octave 4'-unit was installed, using original pipework of Skinner from opus 324.
