  • Christ Church Cathedral (Episcopal) in Springfield, Massachusetts, was built in the years 1874-1876, with the first service being held on Mary 21, 1876. The church was a parish church, and only in 1929 became the Cathedral of the diocese Western Massachusetts. The current main organ was built in 1953 by the Austin Organ Company. It has three manuals and 53 ranks. The Choir and the Positiv division share the same manual. Remarkable is the Double Diapason 32' of the pedal organ, which has been taken from the previous organ by Steere & Sons. This stop was installed in 1911. The pipes are located in the north transept of the church, against the back wall.
  • In 1985 Theodore Gilbert started a renovation of the organ, revoicing of a number of stops, mainly from Great Organ.
