  • Edmund Blacket designed All Saints' Church in Woollahra. The church was opened in 1876. The building was completed in 1882 except for the tower. The organ was installed in 1882 and was built by the company Forster & Andrews. The organ was put into use at the beginning of 1883. It was built in the church by the Layton firm. It was built with mechanical action and drawers. The Great Organ was equipped with a barker machine. An electric wind engine was installed in 1916.
  • In the course of time the organ fell into poor condition. A restoration or reconstruction was postponed. In 1946 a fire broke out in the church, causing the roof of the nave to be lost. The organ was preserved, but was badly damaged by soot, smoke and water. The company Noad then repaired the organ without changing anything. In 1970 the organ was once again renovated by T.S. Noad. The Fincham company overhauled the reeds in that year.
  • Despite this work, the organ has largely remained in its original state. It was restored in 1988-1989 by the company Pitchford & Garside. It was put back into use on April 30, 1989.
