Built by: Johannes Stephanus Strümphler (ca. 1780)

  • Around 1780 Johannes Stephanus Strümphler delivered a cabinet organ to the Zisterzienserinnenkloster Schledenhorst near Rees. This organ was sold around 1860 after closure and later demolition of the monastery to the Reformed Municipality in Doornenburg. Later it must have been sold again to the Evangelische Kirche in Haldern, because in 1899 Wilhelm Heyer bought it from this municipality.
  • It is remarkable that there was no Reformed Church in Doornenburg. The old church was used in the village until 1844, but it was subsequently re-used as a Roman Catholic parish church.
  • The organ is now located in the Grassi Museum of the University in Leipzig.
