- De kathedraal van Saint Joseph in Rockhampton is gewijd op 15 oktober 1899. De kerk is gebouw in neogotische stijl en heeft twee spitse torens aan de westzijde. Bij oplevering was het gebouw nog niet voltooid. Pas in 1982 is de oostzijde in gotische stijl afgebouwd. De firma Whitehouse Brothers bouwden in 1925-1926 een tweeklaviers orgel met pneumatische kegelladen. Op 16 mei 1926 is het orgel in gebruik genomen, waarbij het bespeeld werd door N.G. Wiley. Het orgel is opgesteld op de orgelgalerij aan de westzijde van het schip, maar staat een kwartslag gedraaid op de galerij, met de rug tegen de noordwand.
- Al vanaf ca. 1980 is het orgel niet meer te bespelen. Er zijn plannen voor een restauratie.
