  • Saint Paul Episcopal Church in LaPorte was built in the years 1897-1898 in the Gothic Revival style. The building replaced an older church, which was inaugurated in 1848. The church's first organ was an instrument by Henry Erben from 1851. This was replaced in 1871 by a new organ from the firm of Steer & Turner. The first organ that Steer & Turner built was lost to a fire in the company's premises, after which the instrument had to be built again. In 1898 the organ was transferred to the new church.
  • In 1978-1979 the organ was restored by Ronald Wahl. It was decided to restore the original instrument, but also to extend the work with a new ten-stop section, designed in the style of the organ's construction period. The pipework has been re-voiced and the original painting of the front pipes has been reconstructed. On May 20, 1979, the organ was put back into use. Arthur Lawrence played the dedication concert.
