- De orgelgeschiedenis van Holy Trinity Church in Kendal begint in 1702, met de bouw van een orgel door 'Father' Bernhard Smith. Hij bouwde een orgel aan de westzijde van de kerk op de orgelgalerij. Dit orgel is in 1846 tijdelijk op de kerkvloer geplaatst. De galerij is verwijderd bij een restauratie van de kerk, en daarna is het orgel in 1852 geplaatst naar de oostzijde van de kerk, in de Bellingham Chapel. Dit oude orgel werd in 1877 vervangen en verkocht aan Saint Cuthbert's Church in Darwen.
- Henry Willis bouwde in 1877 een nieuw orgel met drie manualen en pedaal. In 1905 en 1949 is het orgel uitgebreid. Het huidige orgel werd in 1969 gebouwd door de firma Walker & Sons. Het kreeg een plaatst op een nieuwe galerij aan de westzijde van de kerk, met een vrijstaande speeltafel op de kerkvloer. Veel pijpwerk van Willis is hergerbuikt bij de bouw.
- Het orgel is in 1987 gereviseerd door de firma Holmes & Swift. Er zijn momenteel plannen voor een renovatie.
