Built by: Famiglia Organaria Mascioni (1984) - opus 1066
The organ in the cathedral of Cremona is on the gospel side of the choir. The beautiful Renaissance organ case was made in the years 1542-1544 by Filippo Vianino and Giuseppe Sacca. The organ itself was built in 1984 by Mascioni, with a lot of existing pipework being reused. The instrument had already been radically renovated by Pacifico Inzoli in 1879 and rebuilt and expanded by Balbiani Vegezzi Bossi in 1937. After the rebuilding by Mascioni, the organ was placed in its entirety again in the old case. In 2014, the same company carried out an overhaul.
