  • Pierre-Jean De Volder built a new organ for the old parish church of Lens in 1837. According to tradition, the organ case was taken from an old monastery chapel in Cambron, but this cannot be proven. It is more likely that the decorations date from the eighteenth century, while the case is from the nineteenth century. De Volder may have only taken over the decorative pieces from an older organ case.
  • After the construction of a new church building, the organ was transferred to the new church by Henri De Volder in 1863. In 1909 the organ was modified by Charles and Léon De Volder. The company Les Artisans Facteurs d'Orgues et Clavecins de Tournai carried out a restoration in 1993.
