- For the Grand Hall of Battersea Town Hall, the firm of Norman & Beard built a large concert organ in 1900-1901. It was designed by Robert Hope-Jones. It is a four-manual organ with 42 stops. The organ was placed in three beautifully carved wooden cases with a magnificent console on the podium. In 1923 the action was renewed by the Hill, Norman & Beard.
- After the Town Hall closed in 1974, the building was converted into the Battersea Arts Centre. The organ remained, but was unplayable for many years. In 2013, the company Browne & Sons began restoring the organ. The internals were moved to the firm's workshop. On 13 March 2015, a major fire broke out in the building. This caused extensive damage to the cases and the console.
- The building was restored in 2016-2017. The organ was re-erected after a restoration in May 2019.
