In 1854 Henri De Volder built an organ for the chapel of the Couvent des Soeurs de Notre-Dame in Thuin. The organ case was probably manufactured by Pierre-Fidèle Delmotte. The organ was donated by the sisters to the parish of Thuin-Waibes in 1986. Three registers were now missing from the organ, namely the Cornet, the Trompette and the Cromhorne. It was transferred by volunteers under the direction of the parish organist. André Thomas made the three missing stops. The box pedal has been replaced by a new pedal with thirty keys. The organ was also expanded with a Soubasse 16' on the pedal, the pipework of which is placed in a rather ugly way on either side of the organ.
