The Sint Medarduskerk in Wervik dates from the fifteenth century, but has often been rebuilt and renovated afterwards. After major damage in the First World War, restoration followed. The organ in the church, built in 1913 by Jules Anneessens, was lost by bombings. Around 1925 Jules Anneessens built the current instrument.
