In 1967 Veikko Virtanen built an organ with 32 stops for Espoo Cathedral. The instrument was expanded to 38 stops in 1989. The organ was dismantled after a final recital on February 14, 2010 and sold to Oulu. After the restoration of the church interior was completed, a new organ was constructed, also by Virtanen. This organ, with 43 stops, was completed in 2012. The organ was designed in the style of Friedrich Ladegast's organs.
