- James Nicholson, orgelmaker in Newcastle, bouwde in 1847 een tweeklaviers orgel voor de Church of Saint Anne in Bishop Auckland. Het was een orgel met twee klavieren en pedaal en 11 registers. In 1876 is het huidige orgel gebouwd door Harrison & Harrison. Mogelijk is het deels een ombouw en uitbreiding van het oude orgel geweest.
- In de eerste helft van de twintigste eeuw is de toetstractuur gepneumatiseerd door de firma Sewell uit Sunderland. In deze staat is het orgel bewaard gebleven. Brian Brighton voerde rond 1990 een revisie uit. Na waterschade in 2012 is het pedaal gerestaureerd door Andrew Carter.
