In the years 1953-1956, a new Himmelfahrtkirche was built in Berlin-Wedding, replacing the church building from 1893, which was largely destroyed in 1943. In 1956 the Karl Schuke firm placed a small organ with five stops in the church (opus 37). This was replaced in 1960 by the current organ, also built by Karl Schuke.
