The organ in the South Congregational Church in Amherst was built in 1896 as opus 74 by Casavant Frères, originally for St. Anne's Church in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. In 1918 it was transferred to the church of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires in Woonsocket. . In 2000 it returned to its original location, now with another function and name, the St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center in Woonsocket. The intention was that this cultural center would undertake the restoration of the organ. It didn't come that far. In 2013, the organ was restored by Czelusniak & Dugal, Northampton MA, and relocated to the South Congregational Church of Amherst MA.
