Built by: Johann Eberhard Walcker (1782) - opus 1
In 1850, the Walcker company installed an organ in the Georgskirche in Schwieberdingen, replacing an organ built in 1723 by the organ builder Johann Michael Schmahl. The new organ was an existing instrument that Johann Eberhard Walcker had built in 1782 for the Garnisionskirche in Ludwigsburg. In 1848, Walcker had constructed a new organ for this church (opus 78). The Walcker company carried out a restoration in 1953. In 1965 Walcker expanded the organ with a second manual. The instrument was restored in 1986, with three new reeds installed and the Mixtur of the Hauptwerk renewed. There are still three registers from 1782 on the Hauptwerk, and three on the Pedal.
