In 1980 Gustav Cartellieri built a new organ for the Evangelische Kirche in Leitersweiler. Part of the pipework was taken over from the church's previous organ, which had been built in 1915 by the Oberlinger firm. The church building itself was dedicated on June 25, 1851, and the church was expanded n the years 1913-1915. According to Bernhard H. Bonkhoff, the Oberlinger organ is older, having been built as early as 1876. It had seven registers and cone chests.
