- In 1860 Jakob Oberlinger (March 6, 1842 - Windesheim, May 17, 1916) founded the Oberlinger company in Windesheim. Together with his brother Karl Oberlinger (March 23, 1840 - November 9, 1919) - partner since 1872 - he took over the organ maker Weil in 1880. A remarkable detail is that Jakob and Karl's grandfather had worked for the Stumm firm in Rhaunen.
- Jakob Karl Oberlinger (1879-1962), also known as Karl II, later took over and expanded the company. After the Second World War, the management passed to his two sons, Hermann (December 18, 1908 - 2002) and Ernst (January 1, 1915 - March 17, 2004), who took the name Gebr. Oberlinger used.
- They were succeeded by their sons Helmut (February 9, 1942) and Wolfgang (January 19, 1943). At the end of 2005 it was announced that the Oberlinger company was bankrupt. However, the company was able to continue the ongoing work. In November 2006 it was taken over by Egon Schmitz from Bacharach. After a merger with the Hammer company, the company continued under the name Reichenstein. This company existed until 2011.
- Already in 2008 the company Oberlinger GmbH was started by Wolfgang Oberlinger.
